Ford Focus RS is currently working on a hybrid version

Initially, Ford engineers predicted a mild-hybrid configuration with a 48-volt electrical system, but this measurement is not enough to keep the average 95 g/km emissions level at standard level. Therefore, it will be necessary to develop a new power system, this time we are talking about a full hybrid system.

It looks like Ford will be calling the upcoming Focus RS an optimized version of the hybrid powertrain on the Kuga. It is equipped with a 2.5-liter heat engine that runs in an Atkinson cycle. The total power of the hybrid system reaches 225 HP, power is transmitted to the wheels via the CVT box and an additional all-wheel drive system.
